Welcome to Bifrost. By downloading, accessing, or using the Bifrost mobile application (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms govern your use of Bifrost, an AI-powered character chat app for language practice and daily conversation.
Bifrost is intended for users aged 12 and older. Users under 13 should use the App only with parental or guardian consent. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Bifrost does not require account registration. The App uses a local anonymous device identifier to provide app functionality, enforce free-tier limits, and verify premium access. You are responsible for the activity that occurs on your device.
Bifrost is free to start. Free usage includes a starter message allowance and a daily free message allowance. The exact free allowance may change over time to keep the service reliable and sustainable.
Bifrost offers auto-renewable premium subscriptions through Apple's in-app purchase system:
Premium access removes the free message limit while your subscription is active and may unlock additional app benefits shown in the purchase screen.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged by Apple. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings or your App Store account settings.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's policies.
Free trials or introductory offers may be available for eligible users where shown in the App Store purchase sheet. Trials convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
You agree to use Bifrost only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
We may restrict access if use appears abusive, fraudulent, unsafe, or harmful to the service.
Bifrost uses Anthropic Claude through Bifrost's Cloudflare-hosted chat service to generate character responses. AI responses are generated from your messages, recent conversation context, selected language, and companion personality settings.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, unexpected, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. AI responses do not represent our views. Do not rely on Bifrost for medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other high-stakes advice.

You retain ownership of the messages you write. We retain ownership of the App, interface, character systems, prompts, design, code, and other Bifrost materials.
Your conversations are private to your device and are not visible to other Bifrost users. Messages you send for AI replies are processed by Bifrost's chat service and Anthropic as described in the Privacy Policy.

Bifrost stores chat history and companion state locally on your device. You can delete local app data using in-app controls where available or by deleting the App from your device.
Deleting the App or local data does not cancel an Apple subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through Apple.
Bifrost and its content, features, design, code, personality systems, and branding are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes under these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App except where allowed by law.
You may stop using Bifrost at any time. We may suspend or restrict access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or create risk for the App, other users, service providers, or us.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, service interruption, or AI-generated content. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Bifrost in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bifrost and its operators from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date when changes are made. Your continued use of Bifrost after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
